Matt Kelley has concluded his seventh season with the Dutchmen for the 2016 campaign.

The Saratoga, N.Y. native attended high school at Stillwater Central. Kelley graduated from SUNY College at Plattsburgh with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Business and played three years for the Cardinals under head coach Kris Doorey and one year at Hartwick College under Head Coach Doug Kimbler.

In his three year career at SUNY Plattsburgh, Kelley ranked high in many all time categories. He was fourth in doubles (29). tied for seventh in RBIs (67), and finished 15th in batting average (.320). As a pitcher, Kelley was tied for first in shutouts (4), sixth in complete games (8, and ninth in strikeouts (95). Kelley was the SUNYAC Pitcher of the Year in 2007 and 2008, and Newcomer of the Year in 2007. He made the SUNYAC All Star First Team in 2007 and was a Collegiate Baseball Preseason Player to Watch in 2008 and 2009.

Kelley played for five years in the Saratoga Stampede Program for current Union Head Coach Paul Mound and current Union Associate Head Coach Art McDonald. During his time the Stamped posted the best finish in the stampede U-18 legion program (until 2013) when there were runners up in 2006. In 2010, he was an assistant baseball coach at Skidmore College under Head Coach Ron Plourde. The staff was awarded Coaching Staff of the Year by the Liberty League in 2010. He also coached the Saratoga Stampede U-16 team in summer of 2010 where they finished second in the state finals to Cornwall NY.
