Biography

Markel was a Second Team Liberty League All-Star selection in 2006. He was seventh in tackles on the squad with 44, including 37 solo tackles, starting in the secondary. He also had two interceptions.
In 2005, Markel made a total of six tackles, with one interception that included a 76 yard return for a touchdown. He was also named Co-Defensive Player of the Week by ECAC 2005 Division III Norhtwest and he made the D3Football.com National Team of the Week, both on October 25, 2005.
