AJ Gallagher begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Union College football team in 2023. Gallagher will work primarily as the quarterbacks coach.
Gallagher comes to Union after spending two seasons on staff at Princeton University, helping the program to a 17-3 record in his two full seasons with the football program.
In 2022, Princeton went 8-2 overall and ranked first in passing offense (274.2) and second in scoring per game (27.8) in the Ivy League. Working with the wide receivers, he helped in the development of Andrei Iosivas and Dylan Classi, who finished first and second in the Ivy League in receptions and yards. Iosivas led the conference in touchdown receptions as well on the way to four different All-America honors and recognition as a Walter Payton Award finalist.
In 2021, while working with the offensive line, he assisted in Princeton posting a 9-1 record and earning its third Ivy League title in five seasons. The Tigers had 16 All-Ivy selections, including a program-record 10 first-team honorees. The offense ranked first in the Ivy League in scoring (33.4), second in passing offense (265.5), second in passing efficiency (147.0) and third in total offense (392.4).
Gallagher graduated from Rutgers University in 2018 with a degree in labor relations and economics.
