Anthony Trotta finished his first season as Defensive Coordinator for the Union College football team in 2024.
In his first year with the team, he helped senior Cole DaSilva rank in the top-five in Division III in total tackles and saw six defensive players earn All-Liberty League honors, including a pair of D3football.com All-Region honorees.
Trotta reunited with head coach Jon Drach in Schenectady after serving as the Defensive Coordinator at Wilkes University for the last two seasons. Under his direction, the Colonels recorded five defensive touchdowns and finished the year with 23 sacks in 2023, while the 2022 team allowed only 18.3 points per game and boasted one All-Region pick and four All-Conference selections. In the last two years, Wilkes recorded 22 interceptions, 48 sacks and 129 tackles for loss.

Trotta started his collegiate coaching career at Wilkes in 2019 as the Defensive Line Coach and Video Coordinator, helping the team to an 8-3 record that marked the program's most wins in 13 years and the fourth-most ever in a season. He spent the following year at John Carroll University as coordinator of the special teams unit in 2020-21, and also served as Special Teams Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Oberlin College in 2021 before earning a promotion to Co-Defensive Coordinator after the season.

Trotta graduated from Wilkes University in 2017 with a degree in elementary and early childhood education. He was a member of the football for the Colonels serving as a special teams captain during his time in Wilkes-Barre.
