Kevin Billington

Kevin BillingtonĀ completed his eighth year as an assistant coach with the Union College football team in 2023. Billington assists the Union defensive unit, primarily working with the secondary.Ā 

In his six seasons with the program, Billington has coached one D3football.com All-Region selection, one All-ECAC honoree, and 14 All-Liberty League picks in the secondary.

Billington joined the Union College staff after a second stint as the head coach at Cobleskill-RichmondvilleĀ High School from 2010-14.

Prior to Cobleskill-Richmondville, Billington coached the secondary at Hartwick College for four seasons from 2006-09. The Hawks' 2007 team compiled an 8-3 record, sharing the Empire 8 regular season title, and advancing to the NCAA DivisionĀ III playoffs.Ā Ā The defense ranked 22nd in total takeaways and 19th in interceptions nationally.Ā 

Billington began his coaching career as the head coach at Cobleskill-Richmondville from 1998-2005.Ā  The 1999 team finished with a 7-2 record, marking the first winning season at the schoolĀ in 15 years. His team advanced to the Class B semifinals four out of the last five years, finishing with an overall record of 44-28 record.Ā 

Billington was a collegiate running back, playing two seasons at St. Lawrence University and two at SUNY Cortland. He received his master’s degree from SUNY Albany and teaches physical education at Cobleskill-Richmondville. Ā BillingtonĀ residesĀ in Saratoga SpringsĀ with his wife Theresa; daughter Kathryn, who played soccer at Nazareth College fromm 2014-17; and son Seth, who played football at St. John Fisher College from 2014-17.
