Connor Cepiel ’24 enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Union College men’s basketball team in 2025-26. In addition to his work on the court, Cepiel also serves as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at Union.
Cepiel spent five years with the Union basketball team from 2019-24, working his way up from a student assistant and manager role as a first-year to playing in 69 games over his final three seasons, including two seasons as a team captain. In his final season, he was named team Most Valuable Player after averaging 29.0 minutes and 7.0 points per game while starting all 25 games and leading the Garnet Chargers to a Liberty League Tournament appearance.
Cepiel spent the 2024-25 season as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at Eckerd College as well as a physical therapy technician, and also served as a summer strength coach at IMG Academy. As an undergraduate student, he worked two seasons under Dan Gableman in the Union strength & conditioning department, developing and coaching programs for more than a dozen varsity sports, working primarily with the tennis, basketball, volleyball and football teams. He is a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM).
Cepiel graduated from Union in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is currently pursuing a doctor of physical therapy degree from Bowling Green State University.
