Nate Greenberg begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Union College men's lacrosse program.
Named a team captain last season, Nate missed the 2014 campaign after being diagnosed with Ewing's Sacroma, a rare form of bone cancer. Â He has since made a full recovery.
Greenberg played three seasons (2011-13) at midfield for Union, compiling 50 goals (including four game-winners) in 51 games. Â He scored 15 or more goals each season and placed 129 shots on goal while collecting 27 ground balls.
Known for his great hands and size, Greenberg placed in the top five in team scoring all three seasons, and was the team's top scoring mifielder as a junior.
Greenberg earned All-Liberty League Second Team honors in 2013, and as a freshman, was twice named Liberty League Rookie of the Week.  He adapted to the collegiate game quickly, finishing with a career-best 18 goals as a freshman.
A native of Westport, Conn., Greenberg graduated from Staples High School where he lettered in lacrosse, football and soccer.  He was a three-year starter at Staples and led the team in scoring three-straight years.
Nate is completing a degree in economics from Union.
