Tye Kurtz finished his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Union College men’s lacrosse team in 2024.
After graduating from the University of Delaware, Kurtz signed with the Carolina Chaos of the Premier Lacrosse League, scoring 11 goals with two assists in six games during the 2023 season. He also played locally with the Albany Firewolves of the National Lacrosse League for the 2023-24 season, finishing as a NLL Rookie of the Year finalist and an NLL All-Rookie Team selection after helping lead the Firewolves to a berth in the NLL championship series.
Kurtz had a decorated five-year career on the lacrosse field at the University of Delaware, starting all 67 of his appearances for the Blue Hens. He set a school record for points by a first-year with 52 on the way to CAA Rookie of the Year honors in 2019, then went on to earn All-CAA second-team honors in both 2021 and 2022 before scoring nine goals in two games to earn CAA Tournament MVP honors and lead UDel to the 2022 CAA Tournament championship. In his final season in blue, he was named CAA Offensive Player of the Year and earned All-America third-team laurels from Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine after leading the Blue Hens with 58 goals and 88 points. A 2023 graduate of Delaware, he left as the school’s all-time leader in career goals and points with 180 goals and 102 assists for 282 points.
