Jimmy Alexander finished his first season as an assistant coach with the Union College men’s soccer team in 2024.
In his first season on the Union sideline, the squad finished with a 6-8-5 overall record and a 2-4-3 mark in Liberty League play. The Garnet Chargers excelled defensively, conceding less than one goal per game and allowing one goal or less in 15-of-19 outings. Five of the team's eight losses came by one goal, including a pair of losses to nationally ranked foes and two close conference defeats.
Alexander began his coaching career this summer as an assistant coach with the Albany Rush, coaching the U18 and U10 boys teams. He also spent the summer playing for the Albany Rush in USL2.
Alexander was a four-year member of the soccer team at Plattsburgh State from 2019-22, appearing in 27 matches with 22 starts over his three seasons on the field and serving as a team captain for three years. He attended Russell Sage College as a graduate student in 2023, captaining the squad and playing in all 16 games with eight starting assignments.
A native of Clifton Park and product of Shenendehowa High School, he graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2023 and is pursuing his master’s degree in coaching and mental performance from Russell Sage.
