George Danes finished his first season as an assistant coach with the Union College men's tennis team in 2025-26.

The team had a record-setting 2025-26 campaign in his first season with the program, winning a program-record 11 matches and earning its first postseason victory in over two decades with a thrilling 4-3 comeback win over #65 in the first round of the Liberty League Tournament. The Garnet Chargers were ranked as high as 59th in the ITA national rankings and earned a pair of victories over nationally foes over the course of the season.

Danes graduated from Endicott College in 2025 and was a three-member of the tennis team for the Gulls. As a senior, he held down the second singles and first doubles spots in the Endicott lineup, posting a combined 16-15 record in dual matches. A two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, he also earned a pair of Academic All-Conference honors as a sophomore and senior.
