Madison Taggart

    Assistant Cross Country / Track & Field Coach

Madison Taggart started her first season as an assistant coach with the Union College men's and women's cross country and track & field teams in 2025-26.

Taggart's previous work included personal training, corporate wellness program management, sports event management, and operations for a virtual education program focused on humanistic coaching. Her passion for strength training led her to leave the corporate world for the fitness industry during the pandemic. She also has previous coaching experience with Girls on The Run and Duke University running camps.

Taggart competed collegiately at Duke University and was a two-year captain of the track & field team. She scored at the ACC championships twice (mile indoors, 1500 outdoors) and qualified for the NCAA East Regionals three times en route to qualifying for NCAA National Championships in the 1500 in 2016. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English in 2016 and also earned a Master’s in Management Studies from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business in 2017.

A native of Western Massachusetts, Taggart was a state champion in high school in the mile for Belchertown High School.
