Deidre Pierson

Deidre D. Pierson begins her third season as an assistant coach with the Union College women's golf team in 2019-20. Pierson also serves as an assistant with the Union women's basketball team as well during the winter.

Pierson is a graduate of Boise State University where she received her B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Pre-law/Paralegal Studies. She was a point guard for the Division I Boise State Women's basketball team from 1992-1996 where she earned Big Sky Conference All-Academic honors each year. In 1994, her team reached a Division I national ranking, tied as Big Sky Conference Co-Champions and earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Division I tournament. Before joining Boise State on a full-ride academic-athletic scholarship, Pierson played for the Dawson College Lady Blues Basketball and the Sun Youth Girls AAU Basketball programs in Montreal, QC, Canada. 

Pierson was previously Head Coach of Bishop Kelly High School's Girls AAU Basketball program and was a team coach for several Boise State University summer basketball camps in Boise, Idaho. In Seattle, Washington, she coached JV and Varsity Girls Basketball for Rainier Beach High School during the 1998-2001 seasons. 

Pierson worked in the field of IT Management for the Legal, Financial Services and Corporate Regulatory Compliance sectors for over 16 years. In tandem with her return to coaching, Pierson will complete a Master's of Science graduate degree in Sport Management through SUNY Cortland's Sport Management program in May 2019.
