    Volunteer Assistant, Women's Ice Hockey
Kate Gallagher is in her first season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach on Claudia Asano Barcomb's staff. Gallagher will be assisting with the defenseman and goalies in practices and games throughout the season.
 
The Minneapolis, Minn. native returns to the Dutchwomen as she was a four-year letterwinner with the women’s hockey program. In her tenure, she was named to the ECAC All-Academic Team 2009 and was a three-time ECAC Goaltender of the Week award winner. Additionally, she earned the George Morrison Most Valuable Player for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons.
 
The former netminder earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience and minor in Africana Studies from Union College in 2012. During her time as a student, she was awarded the O’Laughlin Scholarship for demonstrating leadership in student activities.
  
Outside of the rink, Gallagher has volunteered her time with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club and Habitat for Humanities.
