Catherine Barry, a 2009 graduate of Bucknell University, was hired to serve as an assistant with the field hockey and women’s lacrosse staffs. Barry joined Union in August of 2009.

A duel major at Bucknell, Barry graduated with Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degrees in Political Science and Sociology. She was a four-year starter for the women’s lacrosse team and served as team captain her junior and senior seasons.

“We are thrilled to have Catherine on board,” said women’s lacrosse head coach Jessica Critchlow. “She is very highly regarded by all who know her and was integral in her teams success at Bucknell.

“She is a focused, determined person who brings a wealth of leadership and experience. I’m confident out student-athletes will benefit from her being here.”

A native of Liverpool, NY, Barry was named to the All-Patriot League Tournament Team in 2009 and was a three-time participate on the conference’s academic honor roll (2007, ’08 and ’09). She was also a team representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Her on-field instruction experience includes working for the Town of Clay Girls Lacrosse Camp and Field Hockey Camp from 2005-08.

“Catherine is going to be such a positive asset to our program,” field hockey head coach Lacey French said. “Catherine’s presence on the field, enthusiasm and ability to motivate will make an immediate impact on our program.”
