Union College Athletics

Mike Amico begins his second season as an assistant coach for the Union College men's and women's tennis programs.

A former Division I collegiate player, Amico played two seasons (2009-11) at Siena, occupying the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles positions.  He was named the 2010 MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year, leading the Saints in singles victories as a freshman. Amico finished with 29 combined career wins in singles and doubles.

A native of Delmar, N.Y., Amico also played four varsity seasons at Bethlehem High School, finishing with a 55-4 career record, while helping the program to three Suburban Council Championships.  

As a junior player, Amico achieved a No. 23 ranking in the USTA Eastern Section Boys 18s and finished third in the 2008 USTA Eastern Region Men's Open Singles Division.  He represented Team Adirondack in three staight Empire State Games.
