Union College Athletics

Mary Gettens returns for her second year as the Athletic Communications Assistant at Union College in 2025-26.

Before coming to Schenectady, Gettens spent five years at Stonehill College where she served as the student Social Media Coordinator and Manager for the NCAA Division I women’s and men’s ice hockey teams. She was responsible for developing all digital content and managing the social media to promote the student-athletes and hockey teams. Gettens also served as student Media Relations Assistant in the Athletic Communications Department, where she photographed all athletic teams and assisted in updating student-athlete bios on the athletics website. 

Gettens previously interned with the Saint Anselm College Athletic Communications Department in the 2020 summer intersession, where she organized information in SIDEARM, updated student-athlete bios, wrote features and game recaps, created social media content, and photographed student-athletes.

Gettens is a graduate of Stonehill College where she earned her undergraduate degree in Communication, a minor in Journalism, and her Master’s degree in Marketing. 

A native of Concord, NH., Gettens resides in Schenectady.
