Steve Sheridan returns for his eighth year leading the Athletic Communications office at Union College in 2025-26. After six years as the Athletic Communications Director, he was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Communications in October 2024.

As Director, Sheridan is responsible for managing the marketing and strategic communications of Union's 26 Division III and Division I sports via the Union Athletics website, www.UnionAthletics.com, and department social media outlets. In his role, he serves as a primary media relations liaison for local and national media as well as internal constituencies; oversees the school's multimedia, photography and video streaming efforts; provides play-by-play and color commentary on select Union broadcasts; and serves as the primary point of contact for Union's Athletics Hall of Fame. During his tenure, Union has streamed soccer, swimming, baseball, softball and tennis events for the first time, while also expanding the social media presence of both the department as well as individual teams.

Over the last seven years, Sheridan has hosted 10 Division III NCAA Tournament games at Union between men's lacrosse and football, as well as serving as the primary media contact for the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Hockey Regional in Albany. He has helped to promote eight CSC Academic All-American honorees during his time in Schenectady, including Academic All-America Team Member of the Year and NCAA Woman of the Year Top-30 Finalist Karson Saunders, as well as two Liberty League Scholar-Athletes of the Year, one ECAC Hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and one Hockey Humanitarian Award winner.

Sheridan has had two feature stories recognized as district winners as part of the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest: his April 2020 feature story, "Union Lacrosse: A Legacy of Saving Lives", won the "General Feature" category, and his February 2024 feature, "Growing the Game: Expanding Hockey's Horizons", took top honors in the "Social Justice/Diversity" category.  He has spent six years working with the Stabley Writing Contest, including the last five as a District Coordinator.

In addition, Sheridan has served as the coordinator for the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Assocation Team of the Week selection committee for the last two seasons and was also elected as the Region 1 representative to the Division II Sports Information Directors of America board in July 2025.

Sheridan came to Union after 10 years at Manhattanville College, where he served as the Sports Information Director for six years before being promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications for his final four years at the school. While at Manhattanville, Sheridan served as the primary contact for 14 of the 20 Valiant teams and played a role in many department-wide initiatives, including the creation of a video streaming network in 2008 and the Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013. Under his watch, Manhattanville earned media placements on multiple national outlets, including ESPN, USA Today's "For The Win" website and Fox Sports Radio, while dramatically increasing website traffic and social media engagement.

Prior to Manhattanville, Sheridan spent one year at the Division II level at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H., serving as the Assistant Sports Information Director. He began his sports information career in Boston at Division I Northeastern University, working primarily with the ice hockey and field hockey programs.

Sheridan is a graduate of Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., where he double majored in Latin and history. He spent all four years working for The Colgate Maroon-News, the oldest college weekly newspaper in the country, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the student-run newspaper during his senior year. Sheridan also spent four years working with the school's student-run television station, CUTV, and worked with the Colgate Athletic Communications Department for three years broadcasting soccer, basketball and softball games.

A native of Westford, Mass., Sheridan resides in Clifton Park with his wife Rachel and their two children, Jack and Julia.
