Union split last weekend with two teams currently ranked above the Dutchmen in the ECAC standings. They lost to league-leader and nationally-ranked Harvard on Friday and rebounded with a win Saturday at Brown.

Four goals were not enough vs. the Crimson as they scored seven and handed the Dutchmen their fifth loss of the season. Harvard scored two of the goals in the first and took that lead into the second period.

Brian Kerr scored their first of his two goals on the power play at 2:41 of the second, assisted by Glenn Sanders. The Crimson answered with two additional goals before Kerr tallied his second at 16:34 from Sanders and Max Seel. The teams exchanged goals in the final two minutes of the period with Jordan Webb closing out the scoring at 19:05 from Bryan Campbell and Randy Dagenais.

Like in the first, Harvard took two goals to open up the third for the 7-3 lead. Junior defenseman P.J. Byrne scored his first collegiate goal at 12:31, assisted by Webb, to end the game 7-4.

Union and Harvard combined for 106 penalty minutes, with Union taking 58 of those minutes. The Dutchmen were 2-6 on the power play and were outshot 46-28.

Freshman goalie Kris Mayotte was in net, turning away 39 shots, earning the second star of the game. His record is now 5-1-1 overall.

Union bounced back on Saturday and took advantage of a Brown team that had scored only one goal in the previous three contests. The Dutchmen scored twice in the first two periods to win the game.

Marc Neron helped set the tone early on with his goal just 57 seconds into the first. His seventh goal of the season was assisted by Randy Dagenais and Joel Beal. Late in the period, captain Nathan Gillies scored Union's first shorthanded goal with Scott Seney in the box for obstruction-hooking. Gillies' goal, assisted by Brent Booth, made it 2-0 going into the second.

The second period mirrored the first with Neron netting his second goal of the game at 2:41, assisted by Randy Dagenais, to put the Dutchmen up by three.Nathan Gillies then took advantage of another Brown miscue on the power play and scored his second shorthander at 15:27 from Dagenais and Matt Vagvolgyi. The Bears came back with a shorthander of their own under two minutes later to end Union's bid for a shutout, but Brown was unable to get anything else past Union's defense throughout the remainder of the game.

Union was 0-4 on the power play and the Dutchmen were outshot 21-27. Freshman goalie Tim Roth was in net for his first collegiate win. He is now 1-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the ECAC.
