Bowling Green, OH Led by the stellar goaltending of sophomore Kris Mayotte (2-0) who made 30 saves, the Union College Dutchmen defeated the Bowling Green Falcons 3-1 at the BGSU Ice Arena on Friday night.

The Dutchmen struck first at 11:40 of the first period on the power play, off of Scott Seney's fifth goal of the season. Union added to their lead just 28 seconds into the second period, with the eventual game winning goal on the power play by Ian Ross. It was Ross first collegiate goal.

At 5:30 of the second period Seney (6) added his second goal of the game which gave Union a 3-0 advantage. The two goals by Union in the second period came off of just five shots in the period. For Seney, it was his fourth straight multi-point game of the season which earned him First Star of the Game honors.

BGSU's Brett Pilkington broke the home team into the scoring column at 3:22 of the third period with assists coming from Brian Escobedo and Mark Wires but it was not enough as Union held the Falcons scoreless the rest of the game.

Junior defenseman Matt Vagvolgyi and freshman Olivier Bouchard each picked up their fourth assist of the season as well as Jordan Webb (2) and Bryan Campbell (1) also added an assist on the evening.

Unions penalty killing unit once again dominated the game for the Dutchmen, killing all six BGSU penalties. Union has now killed 25 of 25 opponent power play opportunities on the season.

Union improves to 4-0 while BGSU drops to 1-4 on the season.
