Bowling Green, OH Another strong performance between the pipes allowed the Union College Dutchmen to remain undefeated after a 1-1 tie with Bowling Green State University. Mayotte (2-0-1) made 35 saves on 36 shots, good enough for First Star of the Game.
The lone Dutchman goal came from Jason Visser at 4:41 of the second period with his first goal of the season with the assist coming from Glenn Sanders (2) and Chris Di Stefano (2).
Union allowed their first power-play goal of the season when Bowling Greens Mark Wires scored at 16:54 of the second period. The Dutchmen have now killed 33 of 34 penalties on the season (97.1%).
The Falcons held a 36-27 shot advantage despite Union holding a five shots to none advantage in the overtime period. Also, in the overtime period the Dutchman appeared to score the winning goal but the play was whistled dead by the referee and disallowed.
