Colgate peppered Union goalies Dana Smullyan and Mandy Hanson with 59 shots to hand the Dutchwomen their first ECAC Division I road loss.

With the Dutchwomen trailing 2-0 in the first period, sophomore forward Kate Gustafson put her name in the team's record books when she found the back of the net at 16:43 of the opening period while the Garnet was on the powerplay. Gustafson's goal, which was assisted by Carlie McNeill and Elise Nichols, was the first ECAC Division I league tally for Union.
