Palkovichs second goal of the season with fellow sophomore Brent Williams adding an assist, his fifth of the year. Less than seven minutes later in the first period at 17:23 junior Joel Beal extended the Dutchmen's lead to 2-0 with his fifth of the season from sophomore Scott Wheeler and junior Jordan Webb. It was Wheeler's first assist of the year wile Webb picked up his sixth.
In the second period Duluth cut Unions lead to one with a goal senior Beau Geisler's third tally of the campaign at 7:23 while the Bulldogs were on the power play. The third period saw the Bulldogs tie the game at two at 5:54 on a junior Tim Hamblys first goal of the season.
The Bulldogs out shot the Dutchmen 45-21 in the game but sophomore goaltender Kris Mayotte was strong between the pipes for Union making 43 saves. Union improves to 7-2-3 while Minnesota-Duluth is now 5-5-2.
