The Dutchwomen, in just their fifth season of varsity status, opened their season as a Division I team by losing to Quinnipiac, 6-0, at Frank L. Messa Rink at Achilles Center.

Union kept the Bobcats off the board during the first 20 minutes before Quinnipiac, playing at the Division I level for their third season, scored three times in the second and added three goals in the third period.

Union freshman goaltender Mandy Hanson stopped 22 shots as the Dutchwomen were outshot 26-9.
