Dutchwomen Defeat Hartwick, 6-0

ONEONTA, N.Y. The 15th-ranked Union College women's soccer team scored four goals in the first half en route to a 6-0 non-conference victory over Hartwick College on Saturday at Elmore Field.

            Junior forward Cassandra Mariani and junior midfielder Marissa VanWoeart each tallied two goals to give the Dutchwomen (11-1-1) a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.

            In the second half, senior forward Brittany Cressman scored in the 50th minute with a shot into the top-left corner of the net from 18 yards. Freshman midfielder Kelly Owings finished the scoring with 1:58 left in regulation for Union, which had more shots (23-2) and corner kicks (15-1) than the Hawks.

            Junior Julie Gawronski had one save in 90 minutes for the Dutchwomen.
