Box ScoreSCHENECTADY, N.Y.Erika Eisenhut scored twice and goaltender Julie Gawronski picked up her record-tying 40th career win and record-setting 13th shutout of the season as the Union College women's soccer team defeated Nazareth, 5-0, Saturday on Garis Field.
The nationally-ranked Dutchwomen are now 15-1-1 while Nazareth dipped to 10-5-1.
Gawronski, a junior, tied Shannon Powers' (1996 through 1999) career victory record of 40 and now owns a lifetime mark of 40-6-2. She broke her own single-season shutout mark, set in the Dutchwomen's last game, while moving to within one of Carolyn Stead's (1999-2002) career standard of 24. She accomplished all this while making just three stops.
Senior forward Brittany Cressman picked up her third game-winning goal of the season when she put the ball in the net for the 12th time this year off a feed from Jenna Ondash. That came with 30:24 left in the first half and gave Union a 1-0 lead until Eisenhut's seventh tally of the year made it 2-0 with 15:37 left.
Cassandra Maraini, who assisted on Eisenhut's first-half goal and later picked up her seventh assist of the year on Eisenhut's goal with 17:46 left to play, netted her team-high 15th goal of the season to make it 3-0 with 22:44 remaining. Ondash picked up her second assist on the tally. Amy Bell's first goal of the season, and unassisted tally with 14:47 left, rounded out the final margin.
