18 points late in the first half to defeat Utica College, 76-52, in a non-league women's basketball game at the Viniar Athletic Center.
The win improved the Dutchwomen's record to 2-0 while the Pioneers fell to 2-2.
Union, which earlier in the week broke into the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll at No. 25, led 15-5 and 21-11 before taking a 33-13 lead with 2:30 left in the first half. The Dutchwomen's biggest lead of the frame came with 1:17 showing, 37-15.
Junior forward Courtney Shepard led the Dutchwomen with 16 points and six rebounds while Nicole Cerniglia and Erika Eisenhut each contributed a dozen markers. Head coach Mary Ellen Burt was able to clear her bench mid-way through the second half with all but two of her players breaking into the scoring column.
Utica's Alicia Ventresca led all scorers with 17 points while Ava Thomas chipped in with 11. Janine Hayes pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
