Box ScoreSCHENECTADY, N.Y.Senior forward Devon Bruce scored 24 points and pulled down a dozen rebounds to lead Union to a 72-58 victory over Bridgewater State in a non-league basketball showdown at the Viniar Sports Center.
Union shot 50%from the field in the first half (15 of 30) to race to a 41-26 lead at the break. Bridgewater, however, opened the second 20 minutes by going on a 13-2 run to cut its deficit to 43-39. The Bears got to within two later in the period but were never able to take the lead.
Junior guard John Cagianello had 18 markers for the Dutchmen and now has 963 career points as he looks to become the 14th member of Union's 1,000-Point Club. Sophomore forward Brian Scordato pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds for the 2-1 Dutchmen.
Senior forward Peter Santos led all scorers with 26 points while junior forward David Rukstalis netted 10 points for the 2-3 Bears.
