MIDDLEBURY, Vt. Middlebury, the nation's top-ranked Division III team, used a 5-0 run to break open a close game and defeat Union, 14-5, on Kohn Field. The win lifted the Panthers overall record to 6-0 while the Dutchwomen fell to 4-2.

The team's exchanged the game's first four goals before a 5-0 Middlebury run gave the Panthers a 7-2 lead with 10:39 left in the first half. Nuala O'Donohoe had a pair of goals to spark the run.

Union cut the lead to 7-3 prior to the break, and closed to within three, 7-4, when Julia Davis opened the second-half scoring. Middlebury answered with a pair of free position goals before Stephanie Cronan scored Union's final goal of the game at the 16:29 mark. Schuyler Winstead scored a pair for Middlebury down the stretch to seal the win.

O'Donohoe paced the Panthers with three goals, while Michele Bergofsky, Channing Weymouth, Claire Edelen and Winstead each found the back of the net twice.

Sarah Grenert made 10 saves in goal for the Panthers, while Corey Bralower made 11 stops for Union.
