TROY, N.Y.Rensselaer broke open a close game by outscoring Union 6-3 in the second period then held off the Dutchmen in the second half to post a 15-8 Upstate Collegiate men's lacrosse victory. The loss dropped Union's overall record to 3-10 and left the Garnet with a 2-3 conference record. The Red Hawks, meanwhile, improved to 10-3 overall, 4-1 in the circuit.

Dan Myerow led Union with two goals and four assists while Bryan Bendjy contributed three goals. Robert Oram got his first start in goal and came away with 30 saves.
