MADISON, NJJulia Davis scored five goals while Molly Flanagan and Kathy Dolezal chipped in with two each as the Dutchwomen defeated Skidmore, 12-5, in a semi-final game of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic women's lacrosse championship at Drew University.
The Dutchwomen, who broke the 29-year old program's record for wins in a season (14first set in 1999 and equaled in 2002, will play Drew on Sunday (May 9) for the championship. A victory over the top-ranked team would give Union its first-ever ECAC title.
Sophomore goaltender Rachel Beckman earned her ninth win of the season with an eight save performance.
Flanagan, who earlier this year became the Dutchwomen's all-time goal scorer (surpassing the mark of 148 set by Lauren Pastor from 1995-1998), went into the game with a career total of 160 goals, 54 assists, and 214 points. The Simsbury, Connecticut, native, whose 68-22-90 points this year broke her own single-season scoring mark of 62-14-76 set during her freshman season of 2002now has 216 points as she looks to replace Nina Mandel as the Dutchwomen's all-time leading scorer. Mandel, who played from 2000-2003, finished her career with 135-83-218.
