SCHENECTADY, N.Y.Playing for the third consecutive day and frustrated by Sunday's 1-0 loss to Southern Maine, Union scored five goals in the first half and went on to defeat SUNY Old Westbury, 8-0, in a non-league men's soccer game on Garis Field.
Mike Carey, Jeff Marcoux and Justin Merrolla each netted a goal and an assist while freshman Chris Poey scored a pair of second half tallies for the 2-1 Dutchmen. Brian Wade chipped in with a pair of assists.
Senior goaltender Kevin O'Connor did not face a shot in his 71 minutes of work as the Dutchmen held a 15-1 shot on goal advantage and finished the game by outshooting the 1-1 Panthers 26-4 overall.
