Box ScoreSchenectady, NYErika Eisenhut scored 13 of her game-high 17 points in the first half to help Union to a 37-22 advantage at the break and the Dutchwomen went on to defeat Middlebury College, 62-54, in a non-league game. The win was the fourth-straight for Union, which improved to 9-3. Middlebury fell to 7-7.
Union jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the first six minutes as senior guard Melissa Marra scored five of those points. Eisenhut, who scored her first points of the game on a layup with 13:58 shwoing, netted 10 points in a time span of just over two minutes. With her team leading 19-9 with 6:24 showing, the junior guard connected on back-to-back three-point field goals before scoring on consecutive jumpers to help the Dutchwomen to a 29-12 advantage with 4:36 remaining in the opening half.
Union, which led by as many as 19 in the first half, 31-12 at 3:54, and by 16 in the second half, 47-31 with 13:43 left to play on Kate DeSorrento's layup, saw the Panthers close to within three points, 53-50 with 4:55 remaining. Micaela McVary started Middlebury on a 19-6 run with a three-point basket with 12:40 showing before Elyse Carlson's two free throws pulled the Panthers to within three.
Senior forward Emily Scott contributed 10 points to Union's effort while sophomore forward Krystal Hammond led the Dutchwomen on the boards by pulling down 12 of her team's 40 rebounds. McVary finished with 14 points for the Panthers while Carlslon added 13. Alanna Young had nine of the visitors' 30 rebounds.
