DUTCHWOMEN DEFEAT CLARKSON, 66-45, TO SECURE THIRD SEED

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.Senior forward Katlyn Cunningham scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds and senior guard Melissa Marra added a dozen markers as Union ended the Liberty League regular season with a 66-45 victory over Clarkson at the Viniar Athletic Center. 

The win gives the Dutchwomen, 17-7 overall and 10-4 in the circuit, the No. 3 seed in next weekend's Liberty League championship tournament.  Union will play No. 2 St. Lawrence, which also finished at 10-4.  Top-seeded William Smith (11-3) will host the event and play No. 4 Hamilton (9-5) in the other semi-final game.  Times have not yet been set and probably will not be until Monday.

The Dutchwomen, who led by three at the half, 25-22, opened the second 20 minutes by scoring 14 of the game's first 16 points to open p a 39-24 advantage with 14:42 remaining.  Cunningham had eight points, two rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot to highlight the game-turning run.

Clarkson, which ended at 1-13 in the league and 4-21 overall, was led by Linda Fernandez and Erika Fritjofson, who each finished with 12 points.
