CANTON, N.Y. -- Senior attack Kathy Dolezal (Clearwater, FL/Williston Northampton) scored seven goals to lead Union to a 16-11 Liberty League women's lacrosse victory at St. Lawrence Friday.
Erin Lawson (Flourtown, PA/Springside) added five goals for Union, which improved to 2-3 overall and 1-0 after winning the conference opener.
Senior captain Carolyn Cherry led the Saints with four goals and two assists.
Down 7-6 nearing the end of the first half, Cherry scored two quick goals with under 25 seconds to play to give St. Lawrence an 8-7 lead at the half. After a 9-7 St. Lawrence lead, the Dutchwomen responded with two goals in 53 seconds to knot the score at 9-9. Then after the hosts took a 10-9 lead, Union once again answered, this time with four unanswered to take a 13-10 lead.
Rebecca Timbers posted a career-high 15 saves in net for St. Lawrence. Rachel Beckman (Needham, MA/Needham) made one save and Steph Burlton (Coquitlam, BC/Milton Academy) made two saves as the pair shared time in net for Union.
The Dutchwomen return to action Saturday for another Liberty League road contest, at Clarkson at 2 p.m.
