GUILFORD, N.C. -- Senior forward Cassandra Mariani (Boonton, NJ/Morris Catholic) scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Union women's soccer team to a 5-1 victory over host Guilford at the Guilford College Labor Day Classic Saturday.

The Dutchwomen also got single goals from junior forward/midfielder Stephanie Cronan (Marblehead, MA/Marblehead), sophomore midfielder Caitlin Cuozzo (Norfolk, MA/King Phillip Regional). Freshman midfielder Chelsea Hargis (East Lyme, CT/East Lyme) scored a goal in her first career game in Garnet.

Senior goalkeeper Julie Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk) made two saves in 82 minutes, while freshman keeper Kaitlin Graham (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) played two minutes and did not have to make a save in her debut. Union had a 13-2 shot advantage in the contest.

The Dutchwomen won their season opener, and take on Greensboro Sunday in the tournament at 12 p.m.
