ONEONTA, NY – Freshman setter Lauren Lesce (Rochester, NY/Pittsford-Sutherland) had 25 assists vs. Fredonia and 40 assists vs. Skidmore as Union wrapped up play at the Oneonta Invitational Saturday. The Dutchwomen lost to Fredonia in three games and Skidmore in four games.
The Blue Devils won the earlier match, 30-21, 30-22 and 30-21, while the Thoroughbreds won the nightcap, 30-20, 29-31, 30-23 and 30-25.
In the match vs. Fredonia, Julie La Spina (Roslyn Heights, NY/Roslyn) had a match high 21 digs, while Danna DiBlasio (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) posted 13 digs in the match. Veronica Mynders (Port Jervis, NY/Minisink Valley) and Kaitlyn Evans (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) had 12 digs each.
Against Skidmore, La Spina led the way with 14 kills and Mary Volcko (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles) added 11 kills, while DeBlasio posted 21 digs.
Union will play at Williams on October 3 at 7 p.m.
