ALBANY, NY – The Union College men's hockey team fell to 15th-ranked St. Lawrence, 4-0, in the consolation game of the Citizens Bank Governor's Cup Saturday afternoon at the Times Union Center.
St. Lawrence (4-2-0, 0-1-1 ECAC Hockey) stuck just over a minute into the game, as Casey Parenteau slid in a shot from just to the left of the crease. Alex Curran, a late addition to the lineup, and Jordan Hack passed back and forth behind the net before Curran fed Parenteau for this fourth goal of the season.
Union (2-2-0, 0-0-0 ECAC Hockey) outshot the Saints in the first frame, but didn't record a shot until midway through the second stanza. The Dutchmen collected four shots in the middle period, three of which came on three power-play chances.
Brendan Milnamow (Wilton, CT) and
Mike Schreiber (Sherwood Park, AB) traded passes at the blue line before Milnamow's laser was handled by St. Lawrence netminder John Hallas.
The Saints tallied three goals in the final period, two coming less than four minutes apart midway through the frame, the final coming on the power play with 3:19 left to play.

Corey Milan (Great Barrington, MA), but the rebound popped out to Brock McBride. His pass found Kevin DeVergilio in the left circle, who lifted his shot past Milan's left shoulder at 8:10 of the third..
McBride connected with Nick Pitsikoulis who found Matt Raley in the middle of the slot for the Saints' second goal of the frame at 11:47.
St. Lawrence cracked Union's tight penalty kill at the 16:41 mark, as Zach Miskovic recorded his first goal of the season. The Dutchmen had successfully killed off 16-straight penalties this season, including a five-minute major against RPI on Friday.
Milan finished his collegiate debut with 23 saves, while Hallas stopped 20 Union shots for his first career shutout.
Milnamow earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team, along with Brock McBride and Zack Miskovic from St. Lawrence, Tyler Burton from Colgate, as well as Jonathan Ornelas and Most Outstanding Player Jordan Alford.
Union opens ECAC Hockey play on Friday at Messa Rink in a 7 p.m. game against Brown. The Dutchmen then take on Yale on Saturday in a special 7:30 p.m. start. The Dutchmen will rename the team's Unsung Hero Award in honor of Scott Richardson '86 in the first intermission. During the second intermission, Union will recognize Steve Baker '85, who will be inducted into the Union Athletics Hall of Fame Saturday afternoon.
