ROCHESTER, NY – Freshman
Kelsey Powers (Naples, ME) scored a pair of goals to lead the Union College field hockey team to a 4-1 Liberty League win at Rochester Saturday afternoon. The Dutchwomen, winners of eight of their last nine games, improve to 9-3 overall and 3-2 in league action.
Union held a 1-0 lead at the half after Powers netted her first goal in the 22nd minute.
Caroline Tulp (Acton, MA) put the Dutchwomen up, 2-0, off a penalty corner by Allie
Ryan (Westborough, MA) in the 39
th minute.
Tyler Willey (Stockton, NJ) gave Union a 3-0 lead in the 59
th minute with a goal off a penalty corner.
Six minutes later Lara Bucarey scored off a breakaway to cut Union's lead to 3-1, but Powers struck again 10 minutes later, this time off a penalty corner by
Erin Laframboise (Middlebury, VT).

Liz Stanford (Acton, MA) made two saves in 70 minutes of action, while Rachel Cahan stopped 10 Union shots.
The Dutchwomen held a 21-6 shot advantage and a 12-5 lead in penalty corners, three of which led directly to goals.
Union is back in action on October 14th in a noon game at Nazareth.
