PROVIDENCE, RI -- Three Brown University women's hockey players registered four-point games as the Bears defeated Union, 6-0, in ECAC Hockey League women's action at Meehan Auditorium Friday night.
Andrea Hunter scored her first of two goals on the night just over three minutes into the game, and Savannah Smith added her first tally of the evening, a power-play marker, late in the frame to give the Bears a 2-0 lead headed into the first intermission.
Hayley Moore gave Brown a three-goal lead at the opening of the middle stanza and then assisted on Hunter's second tally at 6:26 of the frame.
Kathryn Moos capped the period with her fourth goal of the season at 18:03 of the second.
Union held Brown to 14 shots in the final period, but Smith registered another power-play tally with less than five minutes remaining, accounting for the 6-0 final.
Mandy Hanson (Brainerd, MN) made 39 saves in the loss, while Nicole Stock picked up her eighth win of the season, stopping all 15 Dutchwomen shots.
Union is back in action in its final regular-season road game at Yale tomorrow afternoon. The puck drops at 4 p.m. in New Haven, CT.
