ORLANDO, FL. --- Lauren Barrett had six goals and teammate Kate Sheridan added four goals and one assist as the Colby College women's lacrosse team took a 16-14 non-conference win over Union College on Tuesday at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
The Mules finished their trip to Florida with a 2-1 record and moved to 3-2 overall while the Dutchwomen fell to 2-2 after their first game in the Sunshine State. Union plays Williams in Orlando on Thursday.
Junior Emily Bryson (Charlestown, MA/Gov. Dummer) and senior Stephanie Cronan (Marblehead, MA) scored three goals each for Union. The Dutchwomen got two goals each from junior Keri Messa (Saratoga Springs, NY/Hotchkiss School), senior Allie Toney (Bayville, NY/Locust Valley) and junior Caitlin Cuozzo (Norfolk, MA/King Phillip Regional). The other Dutchwomen tally came from freshman Keelin Skurek.
Catharine O'Brien stopped 12 shots for the Mules, who led 9-5 at halftime. Stephanie Burlton (Coquitlam, BC/Milton Academy) made 17 saves for the Dutchwomen.
After Thursday's game, Union will return home for an April 6 game vs. Hamilton to open Liberty League play.
