SCHENECTADY, NY -- The Union College women's lacrosse team scored a 15-10 victory over sixth-ranked Williams (2-0 entering the game) at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex Thursday.
The Ephs were ranked #6 in the latest Laxpower.com poll. Union improved to 3-2 on the season.
Sophomore midfielder Liz Zamore (South Hero, VT/Essex) scored five goals for the winners, while Union got three tallies from senior Stephanie Cronan (Marblehead, MA/Marblehead). Scoring two goals each were sophomore Caitlin Cuozzo (Norfolk, MA/King Phillip Regonal) and senior Allie Toney (Bayville, NY/Locust Valley).
The Dutchwomen got two assists from junior midfielder Keri Messa (Saratoga Springs, NY/Hotchkiss School) and single goals from Allie Cuozzo (Norfolk, MA/King Phillip Regional), Erin Lawson (Flourtown, PA/Springside) and newcomer Keelin Skurek (Massillon, NY/Western Reserve Academy). In the nets, junior Stephanie Burlton (Coquitlam, BC/Milton Academy) made 10 saves.
Union returns home and will be back in action on Fri., April 6 to host Hamilton at 4 p.m. It will be the Liberty League opener for the Dutchwomen.
