ONEONTA, NY -- Freshman forward Isabel Zellweger (Rye, NY) scored at 51:41 for the only goal of the contest as Union's field hockey team defeated SUNY Oneonta, 1-0 for a sixth straight victory. The Dutchwomen are now 10-2, and are winners of 10 games for the fourth straight season. The Red Dragons fell to 5-9 after this non-league contest.
Zellweger scored her second goal of the season in a scramble in front, with an assist from Alexandra King (Chester Springs, PA). The Dutchwomen outshot the Red Dragons, 11-2, including 8-2 in the first half while not allowing a shot in the second half. Union had an 11-4 advantage in corners.
Union senior goaltender Liz Stanford (Acton, MA) made one save on the day while Erika Dombkowski stopped three in her 70 minutes of work.
The Dutchwomen had a school record seven game winning streak last season.
Union will play at Williams, Wednesday, October 22 at 6 p.m., the third straight non-league opponent.
