Craig Santagelo (Sayville, NY) scored twice on plays set up by junior defender
Brendan Steiner (Madison, CT), helping the Union College men's soccer to a 4-1 victory against Utica Wednesday night at College Park Field. The victory improves the Dutchmen's record to 10-3-3, while the Pioneers go to 8-7-1.
Santagelo registered his first goal at 49:00 with a quick pass form Steiner in the box that the freshman one-timed into the goal to make it 2-0. The duo connected again at 62:34; this time Steiner sent a long forward pass from just over midfield into the box where Santagelo won the ball and put his team up 3-0.
Utica freshman Jeremy Pierce (Cheshire, MA) put his team on the board at 81:58 on a breakaway effort that he sneaked into the lower-right third.

Kevin Giron (Barrington, RI) responded with his first career goal on a laser from well outside the box at 88:56. The goal was set up by freshman forward

Union broke the scoreless tie at 13:06 on a goal from freshman midfielder
Chris Choquette (Springfield, MA), who ripped a shot off the crossbar and into the net from 18 yards out.
Senior goalkeeper
Rob Kramer (Westport, CT) logged 81:29 minutes and made two saves to improve his record to 7-3-3. At the other end Benjamin Banker (Morrisville, NY) made three saves and goes to 5-5-1.
The Dutchmen, who clinched a spot in the Liberty League playoffs, conclude the regular season on Friday, Oct. 1 against SUNY Oswego at 2 p.m.
