GENEVA, NY – The second-seeded Union College women's soccer team lost to third-seeded Skidmore Friday afternoon, 2-0, in the semifinals of the 2008 Liberty League Championship. The Dutchwomen, who are currently ranked 13th in the country, will have to wait until Monday, Nov. 10 to see if they qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
Despite being outshot 10-9 by the Dutchwomen, the Thoroughbreds used a goal in each half to advance to the championship game. Rachael Sushner broke through during the 38th minute off a defensive turnover. The goal was her 10th of the season.
Elena Stanksy added to the lead with a goal in the 81st minute on a play setup by Erin Donnellan, who sent a long cross-field volley to Stanksy. The goal was her third of the season.

Abby Stohler turned aside three shots, while Skidmore's Meghan Sleezer also made three saves.
The Dutchwomen currently stand with a 14-4-1 record, while the Thoroughbreds are 13-4-3.
