Wakita, who is more known for his defensive skills than his offensive abilities, registered his fifth career point. The assists was Boileau's team-leading ninth of the season. He now has 14 points this season, ranking him second on the team.

The Black Bears potted the first goal 5:31 into the game on freshman Spencer Abbott's second of the season. The play started at the point with sophomore Lem Randall, who dished down low to freshman Will O'Neill. After taking a stride, he passed to Abbott waiting at the top the crease.

Union's best opportunity came late in the first with a flurry of shots down low by four different Dutchmen, including two by junior forward Mario Valery-Trabucco. The series of tries ended when senior defenseman Lane Caffaro fired a shot off the facemask of freshman goaltender Scott Darling.

Moments later, Union went a man down and freshman Gustav Nyquist capitalized with only 1:16 remaining. The play was setup by senior Chris Hann and Duffy.

In the second, Union took on Maine's penalty kill three times, including a 5-on-3 for 41 seconds. The Dutchmen had several near misses either just wide or turned aside from Darling. Enter the weekend, the Black Bears were ranked 13th in the country killing 90.1 percent.

The Dutchmen posted three shots in the second, while the Black Bears only fired two. However, Randell made it 3-0 by swatting a rebound out of midair with one minute remaining in the period. Sophomore Keif Orsini took the initial shot off a pass from Abbott.

Just over four minutes into the final period, sophomore Robby Dee light the lamp, while sophomore Jeff Dimmen and senior Simon Danis-Pepin registered the assists.

Moments later, sophomore forwards Justin Pallos and Andrew Boute almost hooked up when Pallos sent the puck to the net and a driving Boute sent a deflection on the rebound just over the net.

Boileau started throwing the body around and created a turnover deep in Union's offensive end. He made a quick pass to Wakita at the top of the left circle where he fired into the lower right-hand corner 7:05 into the third.

Nyquist responded at 11:19 with Maines fifth goal.
