NEW BRUNSWICK, NY –
The Princeton women's ice hockey team came out flying and didn't let up, earning a 6-0 victory against Union on Friday afternoon at Hobey Baker Memorial Rink. Senior goaltender Lundy Day turned away 42 shots as she approaches the top spot of Union's all-time saves list. She now has 1,703 saves and is only 193 saves away from Amanda Hanson's (2003-07) 1,896.

Day turned aside eight shots in the first, 20 in the second and 14 in the third. At the other end Kristen Young made five saves through two periods before being replaced by Rachel Weber, who made two saves, and Megan Murray, who made one save in the third period.

With the loss, Union goes to 2-14-1 overall and 0-7-0 in the conference, while Princeton improves to 6-6-1 and 4-4-0 in ECAC Hockey play.

The Tigers got first period goals from Laura Martindale (1:04), Danielle DiCesare (1:14) and Annie Greenwood (7:51).

Martindale and Greenwood both found the back of the net again in the second period along with Paula Romanchuk.

The Tigers held a 48-8 advantage in shots and went 1-for-2 on the power play. Union was 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

The Dutchwomen look to rebound on Saturday with a 4 p.m. contest at Quinnipiac.
