McCormick leads Dutchwomen to 60-47 win at Hamilton

CLINTON, NY -- Lauren McCormick tied her career high with 18 points and pulled down a career best 13 rebounds to lead the Union women's basketball team to a 60-47 Liberty League win at Hamilton Friday night. The Dutchwomen remain on top of the league with a 4-0 record, and are now 10-3 overall. The Continentals fell to 8-6 and 1-3 in the league.

McCormick made seven of her nine shots and nine of her rebounds were on the defensive end. Union got 11 points each from Rachel Scott and Maria TobinSelin Whitham had five assists for the Dutchwomen.

Hamilton was led by Sydney Fasulo, who scored 12 points with eight rebounds, and Sarah Schrader, who notched 13 points with a team high five assists. 

Union trailed Hamilton, 26-25 at halftime. But with the game tied at 40-40 with 8:22 left in the second period, the Dutchwomen went on an 8-0 run in the next three minutes featuring three points each from McCormick and Mary Donohue. From that tie, Union outscored the Continentals, 20-7 in the final 8:22 of the game.

The Dutchwomen will play tomorrow at St. Lawrence at 2 p.m.
