SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Senior
Katie Weinstein scored two unassisted goals in four minutes and made an assist to help the Union women's soccer team defeat Vessar College 4-0 on a windy afternoon at College Park on Saturday.
The win extends Union's streak to six.
The Dutchwomen got off to a hot start offensively. But the first goal didn't come until the 21st minute when Weinstein's free kick from the left side of the goal box put the ball into the right side of the goal.
Three minutes later, after a tackle by Vassar goalkeeper Ali Higgins forced a penalty kick, Weinstein took a shot to the right side of the goal and gave the Dutchwomen a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
Already having two goals of the game, Weinstein crossed the ball to the goal box for junior
Katie McLean to quickly one touch the ball into the goal three minutes into the second half and give the Dutchwomen a 3-0 lead. It is also McLean's team-leading eighth goal on the season.
Union's fourth goal came in the 56th minute when freshman
Michaela Katz scored her second goal on the season about 30 yards away from the goal line.

Abby Stohler played a solid 70 minutes before freshman
Kayla Marti came in and relieved her. Union out shot Vassar 24-4.
Vassar's came close to tying the game following Weinstein's first goal when a shot by Carolyn Demougeot hit the right post.
After going a perfect in the five-game homestand, Union will now hit the road for three games starting at Skidmore on Oct. 17. Kickoff is scheduled at 1 p.m.
