Quinnipiac Defeats Union in Conference Opener

Freshman Alana Marcinko made 26 saves against Quinnipiac on Friday.

Hamden, Conn. – The Union College women's ice hockey team opened its ECAC Hockey schedule with a 3-0 loss to Quinnipiac on Friday.

Although Quinnipiac forward Kelley Davies scored the first goal 12:39 into the first period, forward Kallie Flor scored two goals in the second period to extend the Bobcats' lead.

However, freshman goaltender Alana Marcinko made 26 saves. The Dutchwomen kept themselves out of the box, having only commit five penalties whereas Quinnipiac committed five.

Union will conclude the three-game road trip heading to Princeton on Saturday to face the Tigers. Faceoff is at 4 p.m.
