Dutchwomen blanked by Vermont 2-0

, VT – Freshman Alana Marcinko made 23 saves but the women's ice hockey team was set back 2-0 by Vermont on Friday night.
 
Union made 13 shots throughout the game. Senior forward Marissa Gentile and sophomore #Émilie Arseneault# each had three shots.
 
Freshman Emma Rambo opened the game up with a shot that went wide right followed by another shot by freshman forward Rhianna Kurio. Sophomore forward Lauren Cromartie then made a shot to the goal but was saved by Vermont goalie Kristen Olychuck.
 
Vermont's Kailey Nash scored the first goal on the season for the Catamounts at 11:05 of the first period. The Catamounts then responded again with a short-handed goal by Celeste Doucet 17:23 into the first period.
 
The Dutchwomen will conclude its three-game season opening road trip on Saturday against Vermont. Faceoff is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
